Best Ways to Keep Kids Entertained at a Home Birthday Party

Hosting a kids birthday party at home is a great idea, especially if you’re looking for a more private venue that is not too crowded with four other birthday parties happening at the same time. My daughter is now 8 years old, so I’ve had my share of planning kids birthday parties and I’m not even close to done. I’ve had parties planned at adventure zones, trampoline centres, midway games with tokens, ticket, prizes, and more. These were all great, the kids had fun, but I found they interacted less with each other as they ran around aimlessly in such large centres. There was just too many people there celebrating birthdays, including the general public. When they brought out the cake, I felt like we needed to shout the happy birthday song just to be heard over the noise level. It felt more like a fun outing and less like a gathering for an actual birthday.

On the contrary, having a home birthday party, you might worry about kids getting bored or not having enough entertainment, or worse making a mess of your home. Well, I would never let this happen. I enjoy having my kid’s friends over and I enjoy it even more when they leave and our home is still intact and relatively tidy, which is why I was comfortable with the idea of hosting my kid’s birthday in the private and peaceful quarters of my own home.

When my daughter first introduced the idea of a home birthday, I was initially reluctant. But I heard through the grapevines from some of the other moms at the school of a chocolate making birthday party with Chocolate Tales. The kids experience a hands-on chocolate making experience. You would be surprised at how leveled the energy in the room gets when the kids are focused on creating chocolate masterpieces of their own; how obedient they can be when there’s chocolate at stake! If you thought they loved chocolate before, you should see how much more they can love and appreciate chocolate after they’ve made their own.

Now, before you get frantic thoughts about cleaning up chocolate, keep in mind the Chocolate Tales party hosts will take care of the setup and cleanup. They lay down protective covers over the working area and have done workshops like this countless times. The chocolate-making fun stays contained in the chocolate-making area! Now this is the part I really appreciate, the party hosts did a fantastic job at handling all the details. I guess, the only tough part for the adults would be resisting the urge to snatch up some chocolates and eating them for themselves!
